This is a perfect film in every way, in any decade.  Laughton so far is the only man to WIN THE OSCAR for playing the role of Henry the VIII. He was also, (in real life) married to one of his many queens in this movie. His bio. on IMDb will tell you which one!  :)

Dean - The Private Life of Henry VIII (1933) - Thank you for this movie. Charles Laughton portrayal of Henry is superb. I can't think of any one else that could have done it better.
